In joyful response to God’s grace,

we as broken people seek to live out the gospel together by:

loving God in worship,

loving each other in community,

and loving Columbia and the world

through service and witness.

• Loving God in Worship

At the heart of our life together is our gathered worship.  God himself calls his people together to bring to him our praise, our thanks, our confession, and our deep need for him.  And as we do, we find that not only does our worship bring God glory, but he uses it to meet with us, to transform us, to grow us in the image of Christ.

(John 4:23-24)

• Loving Each Other in Community

When God calls us to himself through faith in Jesus, he at the same time calls us into the community of God’s people.  In Christ we are now brothers and sisters with God’s family throughout the world and throughout history.  We embrace that new identity as God’s people most tangibly by committing ourselves to others in the local church.  At Grace we recognize that living together as a community of God’s people is not an optional addition to the Christian life, but vital to it.

(1 Peter 2:9-10, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)

• Loving Columbia and The World Through Service and Witness

The church exists not only for the good and growth of our members, but we have been given a larger mission by Christ.  We are called to serve and love our neighbors, our city, our world with the hope of the gospel.  And so in joyful response to the riches of Christ’s gospel, we take seriously our part in Christ’s call to be speakers of the gospel and doers of love in the lives of others.

(Matthew 22:34-40, Matthew 28:16-20, 1 John 3:16-18)
